Now celebrating 10 year anniversary,

Saturday, May 3, 2014, 2:00 – 5:00 P.M.

A celebration of 150 years of education in The Dalles, 1854–2004 was celebrated at the close of the district. A historical museum was established for the school district archives, both District 12 and 9.

We already have and can always add more memorabilia:  yearbooks, photos, trophies, class rings, uniforms, and programs.  Booster Girls, FFA, Thespians, Usher’s Club and Girls League are represented by photos, as are elementary schools and the Jr. High/Middle School.  If you have things you would like to share rather than discard, we will catalogue your donation and add it to the display for future family and class reunions.

Also, help write a book of memories for The Dalles School Districts.

Tell your connection and the years with the school district as a parent, student, teacher, principal, admin. staff, classified staff, custodian, maintenance, cook, bus driver, etc.  Write as much or as little as you wish and send via e-mail to  Subject line: School Memories or ‘snail mail’ to Rymmel Lovell, 2522 Old Dufur Rd., The Dalles, OR. 97058.  Be sure to include your name and contact information.

This book will be part of the archive reference for generations to come.  It will not be bound so new letters and stories can be added at any time.  Write about memorable events, favorite classes or teachers, sports, specific schools (elementary, middle, high school).  Anything you share will help connect the past to the future.  This is your chance to be part of written history.
