Wasco County Fair & Rodeo

Tygh Valley (and Tygh Ridge and Tygh Creek) were all named for the Tygh (also spelled Tysch and Taih) band of the Chinook Indians which lived in this general area. The area of Tygh Valley was referrred to as Taih Prairie in Fremont's Journals.

Tygh Valley is also home of the Wasco County Fair and Rodeo held each year on the third weekend in August.
