SPRING MUSICAL PRODUCTION "MAME" NOW PLAYING
The Dalles Wahtonka High School Drama Department will perform Jerry Herman’s Tony Award - winning musical “Mame.” The musical revolves around the madcap life of Mame Dennis, a fun-loving, wealthy eccentric with a flair for life and a razor sharp wit. Her life takes a sudden change when her 10 year old nephew Patrick is entrusted to her care. She introduces him to her freewheeling bohemian life which is derailed by the Stock Market Crash. After disastrous attempts at work, she is saved by wealthy Southern plantation owner Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, is widowed but perseveres with her sense humor and immense sense of style. The show will be performed on March 15 – 17, 22 - 24 at the school’s auditorium. The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $6.50 for students and adults and for $ 5.00 for senior citizens and children and can be purchased at the door. So come see the show – remember Mame’s philosophy: “Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!”
